1975 Gibson L-6S Midnight Special KISS Champagne Sparkle

The L-6S version called the Midnight Special was shipped from Gibson between 1974 and 1979. They made about 2077. However, only 30 in 1975 and 8 more in the next four years were custom made or custom colors like the Sparkle Model we have here. Several sources have said this type of model Sparkle version was made for Paul Stanley of KISS to play on the Midnight Special Show on TV. In fact, there are existing videos of Paul playing this version of the Midnight Special L-6S in 1975 on the TV Show. This custom color is extremely rare on this model guitar.

So we have a unique guitar here. The Sparkle finish doesn't picture as well as it shows in person. It sparkles like Dorothy's ruby slippers! It is different than a regular L-6S in several ways. This guitar is all original and in very good condition with the original hard Gibson case. The pots are dated 1377435. Sources have said the pickups are designed by Bill Lawrence for Gibson. The guitar shows some play wear and finish imperfections. The frets are fine. One of the coolest guitars we have had in our store.
