Gibson L6-S 1980 - Prototype? NAMM? Modified

Regular price $1,299.00

Here we have a true unicorn of the Gibson guitar world.  The guitar is definitely part of the L6-S family from 1980, but we have never seen one with a bound body and or with a top quite like this.  Was it a factory employee build?  A NAMM show prototype?  We truly do not know!  However it started its life, it has most definitely had some modifications done, as you can see.  A Seymour Duncan humbucker and what we assume are 2 SD P90s have been installed, along with an extra knob and a five way blade switch, and a clear pickguard.  Overall, the guitar is in good condition and all of the pickups are working, however, the bottom knob doesn't seem to do anything. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯  Regardless, it's a cool-ass guitar that you are sure not to see anywhere else!  It will ship in an aftermarket gig bag.
