This Martin D-16 dreadnought acoustic dates to 2004 and has a number of high-end appointments that are no longer offered on this model. It has a spruce top and what looks to be sapele back and sides. The back has a herringbone center strip and the top has multi-ply binding. The top has a teardrop shaped tortoise pickguard and an abalone (or mother of pearl...I don't really know!) rosette to match the dots on the fingerboard (I think the fingerboard is ebony). There is a Martin-licensed Fishman Prefix Premium Blend active pickup system installed that we assume was NOT done at the factory since that would make the guitar a D-16E. Overall, the guitar is in good condition. There are a few dings/nicks on the guitar as would be expected from 15+ years of use but no cracks or repairs that I can see. There is a spot near the sound hole from a sticker that we removed. The guitar comes in a hard shell case.
