1965 Gibson Firebird III (3) Sunburst wtih Brazilian Board
First year issue of the Firebird III (non-reverse body), 507XXX serial number, all original except strings. Beautiful Honduras Mahogany body and neck with Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard. No cracks or repairs. Untouched control cavity with original shield cage and perfect solder joints on pots dated 39th week of 1965. Original black rectangular case with vibrant red Tartan plaid lining.
A few items to mention; as is usual with these guitars there are pickguard cracks at the screw holes from shrinkage, a tip of the truss rod cover is broken off and a small ding in the paint in the same spot, as usual the Firebird logo on the pickguard is worn, the pots are a bit scratchy and need to be sprayed with pot cleaner, all electronics and pickups work. This Bird is in very good condition specifically and relative to available FB III guitars, is one of the best for sale in the market presently. Priced very reasonably for this level of condition and originality.
