1965 Gibson SG Jr. in EMBER RED with Brazilian Fingerboard & Wide Nut!
Every once in a while we come across something so cool that it really hurts to sell it, but in the end that is why we are here....to sell the cool stuff to you!
Any Gibson SG from 1965 is cool in and of itself but this one is truly special! This SG Junior is in a super rare custom color - EMBER RED! it also sports a Brazilian rosewood fingerboard with a wide nut (approximately 1 11/16”) like all the great vintage Gibson Les Paul and SG guitars from the 1950s and early 1960s. During and after 1965 Gibson started making everything with a skinnier neck and smaller 1 9/16” nut.
The guitar appears to be all original with no cracks or repairs with the exception being a replaced ground wire. It shows wear from playing, belt buckle and scratch marks all over the back as you would expect and a couple of spots where some finish scuffs were "touched up" with nail polish(see pics), but it has definitely never been refinished.
Considering the crazy rare custom color along with the post-'64 wide nut, this guitar is quite possibly one of a kind! Unfortunately we do not have the original case but the guitar will ship in an aftermarket hard shell case.
