1981 Gibson Flying V - White - Rare WIDE NUT Model
Vintage Flying V with super rare Les Paul type nut width of 1 11/16”. Almost all 1970s and 1980s Flying V guitars with pick guards are small nut width guitars at 1 9/16”. Gibson began using smaller nut widths on most all of their guitars in 1965 with the exception of the reissue Les Paul guitars starting in 1968. That makes this Flying V very desirable to players wanting the full nut width.
This Flying V has had a headstock repair and touchup on the headstock and part of the neck. It looks like a good repair job. The original white finish on the guitar has faded to a cream color except where the repair was made and that is a lighter shade of white. There is lots of play and finish wear patina on the guitar.
We were told that the white finish (except where the headstock was repaired and touched up), the truss rod cover, the bridge, the knobs and the tuners are original. All other parts are replacements. The original case is missing a latch and is showing wear from use.
We love to trade. We will consider vintage, used or newer guitars, basses, amps, etc… and jewelry in trade. All offers considered.
