A super-rare early Custom Ordered Martin with high-end appointments, one-of-a-kind build specs in near-mint condition. Oh, it sounds like a cannon in a wishing well too!

Appointments: D Style body size. D-45 Style neck with vertical inlaid logo, binding and hexagon inlays. Bound top, back, fingerboard and headstock. HD-28 Style body appointments (allowing for walnut vs rosewood). The back and sides are pristine flamed walnut. Gold Martin logo machine heads. Faux Tortoise pick guard. Herringbone type marquetry backstrip, rosette and top. Diamond on back of headstock. Inlaid bridge pins.

This Custom order is listed at Martin as a WALNUT CUSTOM and that’s what it says on the neck block along with the serial number. Ships in the original Martin badged emerald green plush lined hard shell case.

We researched this unique and special guitar and there are some individuals that believe the famous Mike Longworth shepherded this guitar and a few others like this one for his friends through the factory ensuring their enduring rareness and quality. We can not prove this rumor but reading about Mr. Longworth, it is quite plausible. Our guess is if you ordered this guitar today it would cost $10 grand. That’s just a guess. If you want a rare guitar almost no-one has, you can join this very limited club.
